Come get in the holiday mood as we swing into the holidays featuring Waltrip High School’s Jazz Ensemble 1. Jazz Ensemble 2 will open the show at 8:00. Come hear some of Houston’s finest student musicians. The Waltrip RamBand was recently recognized as one of the top 5 band programs at a Title 1 school in the United States. The Band is known on a national level and has performed all over the country for many special people, including past President Barack Obama and congresswoman Sheila Lee Jackson to name a few. The Waltrip Band has had continued success competing throughout Texas UIL, and is very proud of our product.
Our Jazz Program will be featured the Jazz Education Network Conference this January for a special performance, along with playing at the Dallas House of Blues. Later in February we will present a clinic session at the Texas Music Educators Association Conference and perform a special concert as well.
Please join us for a great night of celebrating music, the holidays, and our students. There may even be a special guest! I heard Santa himself may even join us!
All money raised after our expenses will go right back to our Band Program and students to help support our program and our continued efforts to raise money to take our Jazz Ensemble to both Conferences this winter. The RamBand would like to thank The Heights Theater for supporting our local community, and helping to give back to our schools and support the arts!
